KARL HUGO begins the construction of a new finishing workshop.

After obtaining the building permit in October, the excavators are once more in action on the KARL HUGO site. The first foundations for this sixth production workshop will soon be laid. Built against an existing workshop, it will be entirely dedicated to finishing operations; painting, assembly, factory testing, packaging and shipping. This new working area creates possibilities for optimising the existing production workshops. “It is essential to continually optimise our processes as part of a continuing improvement approach” stresses Stephan Hugo – CEO & Technical Director.

Although the company is looking "fit & healthy", it is continuing its policy of developing the means of production. A trend it has followed for over a decade. This was notably the case with the acquisition of two new fully automated storage towers “This already enabled us to increase our level of productivity and to make substantial savings in terms of floor area.” Similarly, a new multi-zone spray booth meeting ATEX standards will soon be installed and the integration of a brand new gantry mill will complete a fleet of cutting-edge machinery. “This new configuration allows us to maximise simultaneous working while perfecting the quality of production of the parts” continues the Technical Director. KARL HUGO confirms its rate of development, while at the same time increasing its production capacity.

KARL HUGO has pre-empted this expansion by implementing a recruitment drive. “The recruitment procedures are complete and training is already underway,” confirms Bernd Hugo - the Financial Director, “our teams will be fully operational as from May 2020, the date on which our sixth workshop comes into service.
